She studied Byzantine music in Bucharest, Copenhagen and Greece under the supervision of professors such as dr. Alexandrescu, J. Raasted, Chr. Troelsgard and L. Angelopoulos. In 2001, she completed her PhD at the University of Copenhagen, with a thesis about the great hironomic signs of the ancient Byzantine music notation. She was grant holder of the ”Alexander von Humboldt” Foundation and since 2002 she has been teaching Byzantine music at ”Aristotle” University of Greece. In her writings, she approaches aspects of Paleography, Historiography, Morphology and Analysis and Metaesthetics.
